We are acutely aware of the importance and impact our business has on the environment. Buildings in the UK were previously reported to contribute in the order of 34% of the total greenhouse gas emissions for the country, more specifically CO2; especially those of older construction since newer builds are constructed to a higher standard.
We have always endeavoured to identify low energy engineering solutions that aim to lower these older building’s carbon footprints, as well as efficiently meet the standards for new buildings. This is because it is anticipated that in the order of 80% of the buildings that are expected to exist in the UK by 2050 have already been constructed, therefore there is a key need to focus on improving the energy efficiency of current buildings.
For many years we have been at the forefront of innovative design and have been responsible for the design of a number of exemplar buildings throughout the UK. We always seek to influence and inform the design process at the earliest time to limit the environmental impact of the Project and to optimise sustainability.
