SUSTAINABLE PROJECT OF THE YEAR 2009, (Project value over £2M) - sponsored by Building magazine and the UK Green Building Council
The conversion of this 1960’s council office building to a naturally ventilated, low energy facility including ventilation towers to facilitate performance of the ventilation system within a busy city centre location; provision of automatic lighting control throughout and heat recovery from the Council’s primary Data Centre as a source of heat to service the office areas. Carbon emissions for the refurbished building are over 60% lower than those ofthe pre-refurbished facility.
