Design Principles

We work very closely with Clients and design teams at all stages of development in a collaborative manner, to ensure that designs we develop are responsible to the environment. This involves using our expertise to inform the team of key environmental principles, taking into account all relevant environmental legislation and regulations.

We analyse, and use software, to simulate how buildings will perform and how they can be as efficient in their energy use as possible, keeping the Client informed and maintaining their requirements for the building. This translates over into the clear and detailed specifications and drawings we produce for contractors, to ensure they are fully informed as to how the design is intended to function, additionally ensuring that damaging or deleterious materials are excluded from the specification. We regularly visit sites during the construction period to monitor the installation progress.

Staff are always kept updated with the latest legislation changes and advances in technology that allow us to produce more efficient and eco-friendly designs. We share all of our experiences and expertise across the firm through the carrying out of design reviews and the sharing of technical information and resources, allowing our more experienced staff to continue to learn new techniques, and teaching our younger staff ways to improve and learn.
