Energy, Renewables And Sustainability

Through our experience and the use of state of the art computerised building simulation modelling, we always seek to deliver solutions that are low energy through design. We always seek to inform other aspects of the design by taking into account elements including building construction, form and orientation, thermal mass, solar shading and the extent of fenestration. These can all greatly impact the internal environment and can be designed and integrated to reduce the extent of mechanical heating and cooling that needs to be provided, thereby lowering energy costs and saving money, all whilst being considerate of the environment.

We have always challenged ourselves with finding low energy solutions (for which many examples may be provided). One of our primary aims today remains the limitation of primary energy use. This not only provides clear environmental benefit but also helps in the selection of appropriate renewable energy sources, the extent of which, today, is largely dictated through Legislation and Statutory Planning requirements.
